Two dozen cyclists from Ottawa-Gatineau completed a six-hour, 71-kilometre bike caravan to Montebello on Sunday to confront the world`s worst climate criminals, Stephen Harper and George W. Bush.

Upon their arrival at the front gates of the Chateau Montebello they chanted: “George Bush terrorist, Stephen Harper terrorist. War criminal, climate criminals.”

They then asked the assembled RCMP, police and security officials to do the world a favour and arrest Harper, Bush and the white-coloured criminals they’ll be meeting with over the next few days for crimes against the planet. The bikers’ plea went unanswered.

Assembled mainstream media cameramen focused most of their cameras on the one biker who was wearing a bandana over his face, despite the fact he was the only person doing so.

After visiting the front gates of the Chateau, the bike caravan travelled in to downtown Montebello where they rested near the municipality’s information centre. Next they plan on visiting one of the local restaurants for great dinner.

As often as possible they’ll be speaking with the locals trying to undo some of the propaganda that the police has been spreading about them for the last few weeks.

Many local residents are quite frankly paranoid and afraid of the protestors descending on this small Quebec town because of the misinformation the police have been spreading. The members of the caravan are committed to trying to correct these lies in the minds of the locals and will be working to let them know they’re just passionate people concerned about social justice who are here to direct their anger towards those meeting behind the massive fence.

* The caravan was entertained during the long trek by Paul Smith (A.K.A. The Raging Scotsman) who keep everyone smiling with his banter and good humour. Another biker named Marc tied a flag of Planet Earth on his back wearing it like a cape (ie. Captain Planet).
