he Council of Canadians is inviting journalists and others involved with independent alternative, and community media to a strategy session on the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP).
March 2007 marks the two-year anniversary of the Security and Prosperity Partnership launched in 2005 by the governments of Canada, the U.S. and Mexico in Waco Texas. For the past two years, several working groups have been meeting regularly to advance this corporate-led agenda for continental integration. By now, the SPP should be a household name. Yet the mainstream media, particularly in Canada, has paid very little attention to this agreement that involves 300 policy changes and will affect the lives of people in Canada, Mexico and the United States from the food they eat to their ability to protect public resources and defend their rights and freedoms.
